WIX® Filters Announces 2010 Sales Promotions

Gastonia, NC — November 3, 2009 WIX Filters, a member of the Affinia Group family of brands, has announced an extensive lineup of sales promotions for 2010 designed to increase customer sales, raise brand awareness, and reward WIX’s loyal customers. Promotion highlights in 2010 include: a cause-related promotion to fight cancer, a sweepstakes for a trip to Sonoma Wine Country, a chance for customers to put their brands on a NASCAR® Sprint® Cup Car, and a unique promotion tying into WIX’s roots in small market racing.

“We always strive to bring our loyal customers creative promotions that add real value,” said Jeff Blocher, brand manager for WIX Filters. “In 2010 we’ve tailored promotions specifically for distributors, technicians, students, race teams, counter people and do-it-yourselfers – reaching every segment of our market.”

The WIX Filters 2010 promotion schedule includes:

It’s Good to Be the King – Four regional store winners and their key customers or sales people will get to act like The King Richard Petty in this exciting promotion. Winners will get a week-long local marketing campaign and H2 mobile marketing event at their store, in addition to seeing their brands on the #43 WIX/Petty Motorsports Sprint Cup car under the bright lights during the 2010 NASCAR® Banking 500 in October 2010. Winners will watch the race from the King’s personal turn-one condo at Lowes Motor Speedway.

WIX Filters “Sale Days” Promotion – During the spring and fall of 2010, WIX Filters “Sale Days” help increase auto part store sales by driving customers into stores. WIX will provide customized “Sale Days” materials and special pricing. Plan your WIX “Sale Days” from January – May and again in July – November.

WIX Sonoma Wine & Dine Sweepstakes – The WIX Sonoma Wine & Dine Sweepstakes is a partnership with the Performance Racing Network. Customers can enter to win a trip for two to the race at Infineon Raceway. The package includes roundtrip travel, deluxe accommodations, spending money, suite tickets, hot/cold passes, and Victory Lane passes, including a tour of Sonoma-area wineries/vineyards.

WIX Filter Out Cancer Campaign - The Filter Out Cancer campaign lets WIX and its partners help in the fight against cancer. Pink WIX oil filter banks are available for purchase with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Counter cards and other point-of-sale materials are also available to help inform customers about the campaign.

Team WIX Racing Product Sponsorship Promotion – In an effort to support the dreams of race teams while building product awareness with world’s most brand loyal customers, WIX is offering local race teams across the country a 20 percent rebate on WIX racing filters and WIX/No Toil ATV and motorcycle filters, free racing gear and decals, and a chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes. 100 Nights of Racing – In 2010 WIX is partnering with Ray Evernham to expand and evolve the Team WIX racing program. The WIX brand message will reach the grassroots fan and racers across the country by providing 100 local promotional opportunities for our WIX distributors. WIX Hummer H2 – The WIX Hummer H2 has traveled the country to spread the word about WIX Filters at more than 800 events in the past four years, and the popular mobile marketing unit will cross the nation again in 2010 with a brand new design. An interactive learning experience on four wheels, the WIX H2 is a black H2 featuring bold graphics, a fold-down filter display and audio and visual enhancements. Customers can request the H2 for their special events.

WIX AG/Fleet Discount Program – As the leader in heavy duty filtration, WIX has more than 3,000 heavy duty part numbers. In 2010, WIX will again double the discount opportunities on select agriculture and fleet filters for distributors. It’s a continuation of WIX’s long-time support for customers selling and maintaining their fleets with WIX heavy duty filters.

WIX/FFA Box Top Promotion – In support of local chapters of the National FFA Organization, WIX will donate 25 cents to local FFA chapters for every WIX box top that chapter redeems between January and April 2010. WIX also will award the four chapters that return the most box tops with a $1,000 bonus and provide an additional $1,000 to the chapter that has the largest box top submittal percentage increase compared to last year’s promotion.

WIX Box Top Program – WIX continues its popular box top program in 2010. The WIX Box Top Program enables distributors to increase awareness of the WIX brand, drive sales of WIX products and build customer loyalty all while giving customers the opportunity to earn a variety of WIX branded apparel and gift cards.

WIX Institute of Filtration Technology – The WIX Institute of Filtration Technology is three days of intensive, specialized training, involving filter construction, system functions and performance dynamics. Programs run in July and September. Check http://www.wixfilters.com/ for details.

WIX Filters eLearning Center – 2010 marks the fourth year of the WIX Filters eLearning Center. The eLearning Center offers convenient online courses on light duty and heavy duty filtration. Participants earning a 70 percent or better on course-ending quizzes will earn the title of Certified Filtration Specialist. Throughout the process students can earn several certificates that will distinguish them as a provider of excellent filtration knowledge and customer service. New in 2010 is the WIX Filters eLearning Center – Spanish, a fully translated eLearning Center for Spanish-speaking technicians.

Babcox “Counter Person of the Year” – WIX will again support the Counter Person of the Year program in 2010. In addition to industry-wide recognition for a job well done, the 2010 Counter Person of the Year and a guest will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas for the Aftermarket's largest trade show, AAIW, including three nights at one of Las Vegas' top hotel-casinos. Nominee must be ASE certified. Entries are due by September 30, 2010.

Chicago Pneumatic/Tomorrow’s Technician School of the Year – WIX has joined forces with Chicago Pneumatic to support the annual Tomorrow’s Technician School of the Year program.
